We have developed and distributed COVID-19 educational outreach materials and communication strategies to reach remote, low-literate pastoral communities in northern Kenya. We utilise culturally-appropriate, icon-based graphics placed at communal locations and recorded mobile phone messages in local languages that are accessed through whatsapp groups and used as ringtones.
